Patient Participation Forum

The Patient Participation Forum (PPF) is a voluntary group which champions the voice of the patient in the quality of care provided at the Trust.

We actively participate in service review and redesign projects and transformation programmes, ensuring that the patient viewpoint is always considered.

Getting involved in patient participation

Taking part in our forum requires an ongoing commitment, and we ask that members contribute at least four hours each month, with additional contributions encouraged.

What we do

We take part in Quality Improvement (QI) projects, and work with the QI Team to ensure that appropriate training is available for patients, visitors and members of the community who want to get involved in this particular type of project: Learn more about Quality Improvement

Our groups also contribute to service audits and quality reviews, and we are increasingly involved in supporting these.

Our work involves regular attendance at meetings, which are usually online, as well as some site visits.

We work closely with, and are supported by, the Trust’s Patient Experience Team.

Public Voice Partners

Our Public Voice Partners are volunteers who support us by representing the patient voice in the quality of care provided at the Trust.

They take part in a range of improvement work on a case-by-case basis, being invited to participate in a variety of activities; some online and some in person. This can range from project meetings to on-site audits to focus groups.

This work can be as part of a project team for example for Quality Improvement (QI) projects or the Outpatients transformation team, or it could be working directly with a clinical team.

How to get involved

Being a Public Voice Partner means sharing your contact details with us so we can keep you informed of new opportunities as they arise.

You are free to choose how you would like to be involved and can have your details removed from our register at any time.
